After spending five years in a cardinal and black uniform, Graduate Student David Hrenak has cemented himself as one of the greatest goaltenders in St. Cloud State history. With a storied career in the rearview mirror, Hrenak has signed a professional deal with the Los Angeles Kings.
Throughout his five-year career Hrenak compiled an impressive 82-44-13 overall record, with 2.40 goals against average and a career .910 save percentage. The record books have been rewritten by Hrenak in his time with the Huskies. He now ranks first in career shutouts (14), wins (82), and games played (146). During his historic career, Hrenak collected three all-NCHC honors and a member of the conference all-rookie team in the 2017-18 season.
Hrenak missed the final three games of the season after being hospitalized with pneumonia but will be able to play this season in the AHL with the Ontario Reign on an amateur tryout with his contract going into effect in the 2022-23 season. Hrenak joins fellow Senior Sam Hentges in signing a professional contract and are some of the first Huskies to officially move on to the next level from the 2021-22 roster.
