Volunteers ‘Husky Clean-up’ campus

in News/SCSU News by

Faculty, staff and students joined together this week to help take care of St. Cloud’s environment. Many volunteers showed up to participate in the Husky Clean-up.

Volunteers were split into teams and then sent of to their designated cleaning areas. Throughout the event, vibes continued to stay positive, cultivating the Husky Clean-up into an experience that is both fun and helpful to the community.

Much of what the event consisted of was a heavy amount of bending over and hauling around big garbage bags and enjoying the great smiles along with good company.

“The event is important because this is our home too,” said Dan Gregory, dean of the Science and Engineering school at SCSU. “Anything we can do to help keep it clean and looking good and being nice, absolutely, we love to do it.”

The Husky Clean-up is an event that has been recurring annually since 2002. The Department of Campus Involvement hosts the event every year and invites all members of the community to join in on cleaning up our community.
