St. Cloud woman dies from fire-related injuries

St. Cloud police officers and fire fighters responded to a fire at 2041 Northway Circle Sunday.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, one of two residents home during the fire, Sharon Lorraine Honer, 70, sustained life threatening injuries. Honer was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross, and then to the Hennepin County Medical Center by helicopter, according to the press release. She died due to her injuries, the release stated.

The other resident that was home during the fire was a 42-year-old man, who was treated on scene for minor injuries, according to the press release. His name was omitted from the release.

According to the release, the St. Cloud Police Department, St. Cloud Fire Department and State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause of the fire, finding that it was not suspicious in nature, and relating to cigarette smoking.

According to Fire Department Officials, the fire damaged one upper-level room, resulting to about $2,000 in damages.
