St. Cloud State breezes past University of Minnesota Crookston 97-68

St. Cloud State made it rain from behind the arc Saturday night, shooting 15-25 from three. This outburst of shooting gave fans in attendance at the game a free meatball sub from Firehouse Subs. Freshman guard Gage Davis ended the game with 22 points, making this his second consecutive game with 20+ points.

Twelve of his 22 points came from behind the three-point line, where Davis shot a perfect 4-4 from three in the game. Junior guard Scottie Stone finished the game with 26 points on 9-19 shooting from the field and adding 5 points to his total from the charity stripe.

Minnesota Crookston senior guard Derrick Redd Jr. led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 17 points on 7-17 shooting, all of them coming in the first half. Each team was going back and forth for a majority of the first half, but the Huskies put the pedal to the metal in the second half, going off for 58 points in the second half leaving the Minnesota Crookston in the dust.

University of Minnesota Crookston (2-5) will go back home to play Wayne State University (2-5). St. Cloud State (4-4) will go on the road to play Minnesota State University Moorhead (9-1).
