With the approval from both the St. Cloud City Council and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Board of Trustees, plans to restore the George W. Friedrich park are underway.
“We still need to get the final financial paperwork figured out and that could still take weeks,” said Mayor Dave Kleis.
Starting in July, clean up efforts for the park will start. “We have already had a lot of people calling wanting to help,” Kleis said.
On Thursday there will be a walking tour at 5:30 p.m. at the park, which is at the end of University Drive Southeast. An informational meeting will follow at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
During that time the mayor will discuss his plans for the park. The mayor said he hopes to get feedback from the community on what they hope to see from the restoration of the park.
