On April 20 and 21, over 2,000 participants gathered on the campus of St. Cloud State University to participate in the 19th Annual Earth Day Run. A 5K and children’s run took place on Friday night, and then the half-marathon took place on Saturday, April 21, in the morning. After a brutal winter in Minnesota, clear skies and sunshine brightened the day for all runners. After a 20-minute delay, due to excessive puddles on one area of the course, the half-marathon began. Over 100 volunteers lined the course to navigate runners, give out water and even beer at one of the mile markers. It was another successful year in St. Cloud to celebrate Earth Day.
