Arson suspected cause of second apartment building fire near SCSU campus this semester
Arson is suspected as the cause of a fire at the University Place Apartments last night around 11 p.m.
An incident report released by the St. Cloud Fire Department said the fire was started in the exit hallway of the building located at 1021 6th Ave S.
The fire was extinguished by the St. Cloud Police Department and the incident report said that “a strong smell of gasoline lingered in the building.”
Damages are estimated at $4,000.
Investigators are currently collecting evidence and rewards up to $5,000 are being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
